We all have unconscious biases in one way or another, but the more we are aware of them, the better we can mitigate them. Unconscious biases can influence hiring practices, promotions, and treatment within the workplace. To facilitate a diverse and inclusive workplace, unconscious biases must be acknowledged, challenged, and deconstructed. Through this process, we can make more informed decisions in the workplace.
